Do you have questions about the Rockbike Rumble E-Fatbike? Here you'll find easy-to-understand answers regarding features, body size, range, battery, road use, delivery, customs, assembly, frame warranty, and returns.
The information on the respective product page, in the user manual, and in the terms and conditions valid at the time of purchase remain decisive.
Questions about the Rockbike Rumble and its features
What is the Rockbike Rumble?
The Rockbike Rumble is a compact 20-inch e-fatbike with a retro moped design. It combines wide 20 × 4 inch tires, a long seat, and a distinctive steel frame with the technology of an electrically assisted bicycle.
The Rumble was developed for city, daily life, leisure, and rides on asphalt as well as on paved roads.
What tire size does the Rockbike Rumble have?
The Rockbike Rumble features wide 20 × 4 inch fatbike tires. The tires not only shape the appearance but also provide additional comfort on varying and uneven surfaces due to their large air volume.
More information on the characteristics of this tire size can be found in our guide to 20-inch e-fatbikes .
What brakes does the Rumble have?
The Rockbike Rumble is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and 180 mm brake rotors.
Hydraulic brakes generally allow for controlled modulation. Brake pads, rotors, and the entire braking system must still be regularly checked and serviced as needed.
Does the Rockbike Rumble have suspension?
Yes. The Rumble has a suspension fork on the front wheel. It can absorb shocks and bumps on the front wheel.
However, the Rumble is not a full-suspension mountain bike and is not designed for jumps, stunts, or demanding downhill trails.
Does the Rumble have gears?
Yes. The Rockbike Rumble is equipped with a Shimano 7-speed gear system. Through gear selection, you can adjust the cadence to speed, inclination, and riding surface.
Is the battery removable?
Yes. The battery of the Rockbike Rumble can be removed for charging or safe storage.
This allows the battery to be charged, for example, in the apartment, garage, or at the workplace without the entire e-fatbike having to be directly next to an electrical outlet.
In what colors is the Rumble available?
Currently available colors and variants are displayed directly on the product page. Not every color may be available at every warehouse location at all times.
The decisive factor is the variant selected during the order process and listed in the order confirmation.
Body Size, Comfort, and Areas of Application
What body height is the Rockbike Rumble suitable for?
According to current product specifications, the Rockbike Rumble is suitable for riders with a body height of approximately 150 to 195 cm.
In addition to body height, leg length, arm reach, mobility, and personal feeling when mounting and dismounting are also crucial. Riders at the extreme ends of the specified range should pay particular attention to being able to safely operate the handlebars, brake levers, and seating position.
Is a 20-inch e-fatbike also suitable for adults?
Yes. The 20-inch designation primarily describes the size of the wheels and does not mean that the bike is only for children.
The Rockbike Rumble combines the small wheels with wide 4-inch tires and an adult-friendly frame geometry. For fit, the frame, handlebar position, and seat height are more important than the inch designation alone.
What is the maximum payload capacity?
The maximum specified payload capacity of the Rockbike Rumble is up to 180 kg.
The payload includes the rider, luggage, and attached accessories. The specifications in the product documentation of the delivered bike are authoritative. The permissible load for individual attachments may be lower.
Can two people ride the Rockbike Rumble?
The long seat does not automatically mean that the bike is approved for two people.
The Rockbike Rumble is generally intended for use by one rider, unless the product documentation of the respective version explicitly states approval for carrying another person.
A second person may not be carried solely due to the length of the seat.
What routes is the Rumble suitable for?
The Rockbike Rumble is suitable for, among other things:
- City rides and daily commutes,
- Commuting to work and school,
- Leisure rides and weekend tours,
- Asphalt and cobblestones,
- Firm forest and gravel paths,
- Campsites and holiday resorts.
It is not designed as a downhill, motocross, or stunt bike.
Can I ride the Rumble in the rain?
Normal moisture and light rain are part of a bicycle's typical everyday use. However, electrical components must not be intentionally submerged or cleaned with a high-pressure washer.
Follow the instructions in the user manual and dry the bike after riding in wet conditions. The battery, charging port, and electrical connections must be dry before charging.
Road Traffic and Legal Questions
Important: The following answers refer to the pedelec configuration intended for Germany. Technical changes can alter the legal classification. Different regulations may apply in other countries.
Is the Rockbike Rumble allowed on public roads in Germany?
In the pedelec configuration intended for Germany, the Rumble has a motor with 250 watts of continuous rated power and pedal assistance that assists up to a maximum of 25 km/h.
Such a pedelec is generally treated like a bicycle in Germany, provided the motor only assists when pedaling, the assistance ends at 25 km/h, and no unauthorized modifications have been made.
For public road traffic, the bike must also be equipped with the necessary bicycle equipment such as functioning brakes, lighting, reflectors, and a bell.
Do I need a driving license?
For a properly configured pedelec with 250 watts of continuous rated power and pedal assistance up to 25 km/h, no driving license or moped license is required in Germany.
Do I need an insurance plate?
For the permissible pedelec configuration, no insurance plate is required in Germany.
However, voluntary bicycle or e-bike insurance may still be useful, for example, as protection against theft or damage.
Is there a helmet requirement?
For a regular pedelec up to 25 km/h, there is no legal helmet requirement in Germany. For safety reasons, Rockbike still recommends wearing a suitable bicycle helmet on every ride.
Can I ride the Rumble on bike paths?
A pedelec legally classified as a bicycle may generally be ridden on bike paths like a regular bicycle.
If a bike path is mandatory due to the corresponding blue traffic signs, the same rules apply as for other bicycles.
Can the Rumble ride electrically without pedaling?
In the German pedelec configuration, regular motor assistance only occurs while pedaling.
Any existing start-up or pushing assistance may only operate up to the legally permitted speed. Independent acceleration without pedaling beyond this range can change the legal classification of the bike.
Am I allowed to de-throttle the Rumble or make it faster?
Technical modifications that cause the motor assistance to no longer end at 25 km/h or the bike to go faster without pedaling are not permitted for operation as a normal pedelec on public roads.
Such tuning can legally turn the bike into a motor vehicle. This can require, among other things, an operating permit, an insurance plate, a driving license, and a helmet.
Tuning can also affect warranty claims and lead to significant liability and insurance problems.
Do the same rules apply in other countries?
No. Regulations for motor power, speed, lighting, throttle, helmet requirements, insurance, and use of public roads may vary depending on the country or region.
The buyer is responsible for checking and complying with the regulations applicable in their place of residence and use.
Detailed information can be found in the article E-fatbike with road approval: What is allowed in Germany?
Motor, Battery, Charging, and Range
What motor does the Rockbike Rumble have?
The Rockbike Rumble is equipped with a 250-watt rear hub motor. The motor assists the rider when pedaling and ends electric assistance in the permitted pedelec configuration at 25 km/h.
How fast does the Rockbike Rumble go?
Electric pedal assistance operates up to a speed of 25 km/h.
Riding faster through your own muscle power or downhill is generally possible. Above 25 km/h, the motor in the intended pedelec configuration does not provide further assistance.
How far does the Rumble travel on one battery charge?
Rockbike states a possible range of approximately 60 to 80 kilometers for the Rumble.
The actual range is not a fixed value. It depends, among other things, on the assistance level, rider weight, luggage, route, inclines, temperature, wind, tire pressure, gear selection, and your own pedaling effort.
With high assistance, low temperatures, or many inclines, the achievable distance can be significantly lower.
What factors reduce the range?
The main influencing factors include:
- high assistance level,
- frequent starting and braking,
- steep inclines,
- high rider and luggage weight,
- too low tire pressure,
- headwind,
- low temperatures,
- soft or uneven ground,
- age and condition of the battery.
You can find more information in our E-Fatbike Range Guide .
How long does charging take?
A full charge takes approximately four to six hours, depending on the remaining charge, temperature, and charging conditions.
Only use a charger approved for the battery and observe the safety instructions in the operating manual.
Can I charge the battery indoors?
The removable battery can be charged in a suitable, dry, and well-ventilated location.
The battery should not be charged in escape routes, on flammable surfaces, in direct sunlight, or at extreme temperatures. Only use the designated charger and observe the included safety and charging instructions.
Can I continue riding if the battery is empty?
Yes. The Rockbike Rumble can basically be ridden without electrical assistance by pedaling.
However, due to its weight, wide tires, and design, more effort is required than with a lightweight bicycle.
How should I store the battery if not used for a longer period?
Store the battery in a dry, protected place, away from extreme heat or cold. The battery should not be completely empty before long-term storage, nor should it remain permanently connected to the charger.
Check the charge level regularly and observe the specific storage instructions in the operating manual.

Assembly, First Ride, Care and Maintenance
Is the Rockbike Rumble delivered fully assembled?
The Rumble is delivered securely packaged in a box and is already largely pre-assembled.
Before the first ride, some final work may still be necessary, such as aligning and securing the handlebars, mounting the pedals, and checking safety-relevant screw connections.
What do I need to check before the first ride?
Before the first ride, at least the following points should be checked:
- secure fit of handlebars and stem,
- correct assembly of the pedals,
- function of front and rear brakes,
- secure fit of wheels and axles,
- appropriate tire pressure,
- function of lights and bell,
- secure fit of the battery,
- correct function of gears and motor assistance.
If you are unsure about the assembly, the final assembly and safety check should be carried out by a bicycle workshop.
What is the correct tire pressure?
The appropriate tire pressure depends on the tire model, rider weight, load, and ground conditions.
Observe the permissible pressure range on the tire sidewall and in the operating manual. Too low pressure can impair range, riding stability, and puncture resistance.
How often does the E-Fatbike need to be serviced?
Brakes, tires, screw connections, chain, gears, and lighting should be checked regularly.
After the first rides, a renewed check is recommended, as screws, spokes, and cables can settle during the break-in period. Further maintenance intervals depend on usage, mileage, and the specifications in the operating manual.
Can any bike workshop service the Rumble?
Many mechanical tasks such as tire changes, brake service, chain care, or gear adjustment can be performed by an experienced bicycle or e-bike workshop.
For work on the motor, battery, controller, or electrical components, Rockbike customer service should be contacted beforehand.
How do I clean the Rockbike Rumble?
Use a soft cloth, a mild cleaning solution, and only a little water. The battery and electrical connections should be protected before cleaning or treated according to the operating manual.
Do not use a high-pressure cleaner. The strong jet of water can force water into bearings, connectors, and electrical components.
Warranty, Returns, Spare Parts, and Customer Service
Does the Rockbike Rumble have a five-year warranty?
Rockbike grants a voluntary 5-year warranty on the main frame of the Rockbike Rumble.
The frame warranty applies to certain material and manufacturing defects on the load-bearing main frame and its permanently connected welds according to the applicable warranty conditions.
This is not a five-year warranty on the entire E-Fatbike.
Which parts are not covered by the 5-year frame warranty?
